Paying homage to the iconic dive watches issued to the British Royal Navy in the 1960s and 1970s and inspired by the iconic 5517 "MilSub". We've reimagined this classic design with modern components and a robust, reliable movement, creating a timepiece that is both a tribute to history and a tool for the modern adventurer.

We build our Subcommander watches with the Sellita Elaboré SW200 because it represents the kind of proven, modern mechanical standard we believe a serious watch should have. As watchmaking continues to evolve, we look for components that are respected, serviceable, and dependable enough for daily wear.

The SW200 gives the watch a traditional automatic experience while still meeting the practical expectations of today’s wearer. It winds with the natural motion of your wrist, delivers a smooth sweeping seconds hand, and offers a level of reliability that makes it a strong foundation for a modern mechanical timepiece.

We believe a modern watch should be built for more than controlled conditions. That is why our watches are designed with 200 meters of ISO-certified water resistance, giving them the durability expected from a capable everyday tool watch.

This specification reflects our commitment to keeping up with the standards serious watch owners look for today. From rain and travel to swimming and daily wear, the case construction is designed to help protect the movement when conditions change.

Sapphire crystal has become one of the standards people expect from a well-built modern watch, and for good reason. It offers strong scratch resistance, excellent clarity, and better long-term durability than standard mineral glass. On the Moh's hardness scale, it is only second to diamond, meaning most things on Earth would not be able to scratch it. While diamond is harder, it is also incredibly brittle, meaning it is susceptible to impacts. Sapphire provides a balance between mineral glass and diamond, providing both hardness and toughness to prevent scratches and shattering.

We use 316L stainless steel because it offers one of the best balances between durability, corrosion resistance, finish quality, and wearability. In watchmaking, steel choice matters. Some stainless steels can be harder or more specialized, while others may be easier to produce but less resistant to long-term wear and moisture exposure.

316L sits in a strong middle ground. It is tough enough for daily use, resistant enough to handle sweat, moisture, and changing environments, and refined enough to hold a clean brushed or polished finish. That balance makes it a trusted choice for a modern watch bracelet that needs to feel solid without becoming overly expensive, overly heavy, or impractical.
